Our Facilities
APEA is based in the heart of the Norfolk countryside and we pride ourselves on our ability to source the vast majority of our raw material from this region, supporting the traditional industry of the area, as well as the peace of mind that comes from knowing the high quality producers of East Anglia.
Our facilities enable us to be dynamic in a way that is unique among food processors of this type.
This is because we do not have different levels of management but rather communication between different departments is all in one central locale. Our small dedicated team of experts that are on site can quickly coordinate between client and the factory floor within hours rather than in days.
Our Equipment
We use a pulsar colour sorter – this is a state of the art technique for sorting blemished products from the perfect articles enables fast processing of produce whilst not compromising on grading quality.
Our own on-site cold store means we have total control of the food supply chain from grower to customer completely on one site and with a capacity of 3000 pallets of storage we have the ability to fulfil even the most substantial demands of the season. Dedicated third party haulers with on-board vehicle tracking systems allow our offices ensure delivery times are met.
Green Credentials
At APEA virtually nothing is wasted and any food materials that do not meet our high standards of quality control are sent for local animal feed.
Some of the charities we support operate in sub Saharan Africa, and so because of this we are passionate about making use of every drop of water so that little is wasted. We do this via dozens of water pits covering over 50 acres, which naturally filter the water from organic material and eventually culminates in a 7 acre freshwater lake with fish and even an family of otters in residence!
We also ensure that the vast majority of our packing materials are from recycled sources but are also recycled after use.

What We Can Offer
As well as working with local Norfolk farmers, APEA also grow, harvest and freeze over 1000 acres of our own crop from the local countryside. This is to ensure availability for our clients is there when they need it most.
As mentioned above, we are very dynamic in our services, please do get in contact if you have a specific requirement for your vegetable processing. We are able to process vegetables to your exact specifications – sliced or diced into any size of cut or packaging size that you need.
What’s more, we also have further processing available in the form of pureeing or vegetable blending line.
Have goods that need to be stored but do not need processing? APEA are able to contract freeze customer supplied fruit as well as on site client cold storage at your request.
APEA are also able to provide large scale onion peeling plant facilities.
And all this is managed by a computerised stock taking system up in our onsite offices to make sure we don’t misplace a pea!
